Consumers Power: Shop for world convention
The sustainability issue, according to Melanie Peters, is to complicated to solve by one party. Science and politics can't do it alone. Consumers are expected to "vote with their feet" and show they care about sustainability. Fortunately, sustainable consumption is becoming more popular and you can choose between things. But that's only one part of the story. Markets are absolutely not equipped to effectively inform consumers. Global production chains make it even more opaque. Only by including through economic agreements, such as global treaty to ensure the sustainability of consumer can now change. Also, these agreements will take into account the perspective of the poorest consumers who do not participate in the world, but whose rights to global stability and the environment are important. Their rights, such as clean water and health, must then be part of the economy. There are enough good examples.
