KHRC - Kenya Human Rights Commission
The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) was established in 1992 in response to serious human rights abuses by the government of Kenya against its people. The vision of the KHRC is to adequately root human rights and democratic values in communities. This will not only enable communities to defend but also claim their rights. In order to achieve this goal, the KHRC seeks to address multiple concerns, which are: 1) the sustainability of the human rights movement, 2) liberation of grassroots groups and organizations, 3) social justice, 4) accountability, and 5) gender mainstreaming.
