SKC - Schone Kleren Campagne

Schone Kleren Campagne (SKC) is a Dutch organisation which aims for better working conditions in the garment industry. The clothes that are sold in Europe are mostly produced in developing countries under poor conditions. SKC wants to make consumers and the industry aware of these problems.

Vision: The vision of SKC is to improve the conditions in the garment industry through inform the consumers of the conditions and wishes of the labourers in the developing countries. Sustainable improvements can only be made when the labourers who work in these bad conditions take the lead and carry out their wishes and demands.

Bridge: SKC therefore wants to fulfil the function of bridge between the European consumers and the labourers in the producing countries. SKC tries to inform the European public about the demands and wishes of the labourers and make the consumers and the clothing industry conscious of their responsibilities. Furthermore, SKC presents alternatives for the clothing industry to produce their clothes under better working conditions.
