Namibia is currently experiencing a uranium mining boom as dozens of new mines are being planned and ore deposits explored. As part of SOMO’s project to raise awareness among Namibian communities and labourers about the potential environmental health and safety impacts of existing and planned uranium mines, Earthlife Namibia has produced this booklet to inform stakeholders about the past, present and future of uranium mining in Namibia, and about the impact of and alternatives to this destructive industry.
