A Sputtering Process
An Overview of the Platinum Group Metals Supply Chain
This report draws a picture of the supply chain of Platinum Group Metals from the mining phase to the use in end user sectors such as the electronics and automotive sector. It gives an overview of the most important mining companies and end uses, as well as an in-depth analysis of some of the refining and fabricating companies. The purpose of the report is three-fold; 1) To increase transparency in the PGM supply chain. 2) To identify the actors and strategies from a force field analysis perspective. And 3) To provide the necessary insight for a multi-pressure point strategy. The paper concludes with a discussion on the possibilities and difficulties to use the characteristics of the supply chain to push for a more sustainable use of this precious metal.
