Inspection Panel of the World Bank

The World Bank’s Inspection Panel is the grievance mechanism for projects supported by the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).

The IBRD focuses on middle income and credit-worthy poor countries and IDA focuses on the poorest countries in the world. The Inspection Panel investigates compliance with World Bank policies and procedures during the design, appraisal and/or implementation of the project. The Inspection Panel does not have a problem‑solving function.
