“Mind the gap” partner meet-up at the 6th annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights
SOMO’s presence at the 6th annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, provides an excellent opportunity to combine content with networking and important face time with partners from around the globe.
For example, SOMO and four partner organisations got together on the sidelines of the Forum yesterday to discuss our new “Mind the Gap” project, which will start on 1 January 2018. In addition to SOMO, project partner organizations present at the Forum included Al Haq from Palestine, Conectas Human Rights from Brazil, the Brussels-based European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ).
The project aims to counter corporate strategies for creating, maintaining and exploiting human rights governance gaps and strengthening strategies for effective access to remedy. The UN Forum created a perfect environment to discuss the strategy and development of the project with international partners.
