Alejandro González
Senior Researcher
Alejandro González is a senior researcher and advocate in SOMO’s Climate Justice team, focusing on critical minerals, the energy transition, and corporate accountability. He has broad experience investigating supply chains across industries, such as mining, batteries, automobiles, consumer electronics, and renewables.
Alejandro is a human rights lawyer with experience working in Mexico, the Netherlands, Tanzania, Argentina, and Colombia. He has worked on strategic corporate research, business and human rights, labour rights, and advocacy. He has worked in non-profit organisations, law and accounting firms, and served as a human rights protection officer in high-risk countries, collaborating closely with defenders and communities.
Alejandro holds an LL.M. in International and Comparative Private Law from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and a law degree from the University of Monterrey, Mexico. His multidimensional background equips him with a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks and the ability to navigate complex international landscapes.
