Dr. Angela Wigger is Associate Professor of Global Political Economy at the Department of Political Sciences at Radboud University in Nijmegen. She is the chair of the Critical Political Economy Research Network (CPERN)(opens in new window) , and a member of the editorial board of the journal Capital and Class.(opens in new window)

Angela specialises in the transnational political economy of the EU with a special focus on competition and industrial regulation and debt-led accumulation processes. Her current research focuses on analysing the global economic crisis, responses to the crisis and power configurations with respect to political resistance. As a member of the Supervisory Board, Angela seeks to facilitate liaisons between SOMO and academia.

Angela studied Political Sciences, Economics and Sociology at the University of Bern in Switzerland, and Political Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she also received her PhD in Political Sciences in 2008.
