Ilona Hartlief conducts research in issues related to gender, climate, conflict and democratic control over natural resources. Before joining SOMO, she worked in various communications and campaigning roles for NGOs in the Netherlands and Latin America.
Ilona holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s degree in ‘Women, Gender and Development’ from the Institute for Social Studies in The Hague.
