Luis Scungio
Corporate Researcher
Luis Scungio is a corporate researcher specialising in investigating investment chain relationships and issues related to the just energy transition.
Luis has worked on business and human rights since 2014 and developed ‘Follow the Money’ research skills connecting harmful agribusiness, energy and extractive projects to global finance and consumer-facing brands. Before joining SOMO’s staff, he worked as a freelancer for various civil society organisations, including grassroots and international NGOs in Southeast Asia, where he lived for four years.
He holds a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from the University of Galway with thesis research on cases of communities leveraging non-judicial grievance mechanisms to address the impacts of large-scale mining operations. Luis also holds a Master’s in Political Philosophy from the University of Rome.
