SOMO and fifty other organisations support Code Rood’s call to action: the Dutch government, NAM, Shell and Exxon must take responsibility for their natural gas extraction activities in Groningen.
Code Rood (Code Red) and a large group of concerned “Groningers” demand drastic measures now: gas extraction must be scaled down more quickly and NAM, Shell and Exxon must pay for the damage fairly. To date, these parties have refused. Therefore, Code Rood and Groningen citizens have organised a protest against the gas extraction on 28 August.
