The long-awaited final version of the model text for Dutch bilateral investment treaties was published on 26 October. The draft version of the model text was made available online to the Dutch public for comment from 16 May to 18 June 2018, in a so-called “internet consultation”.
Responses were received from 1,657 citizens and organisations. The question now is whether the input of the participants in the public consultation has been sufficiently taken into account and whether the final model text really contributes to sustainable and responsible investment.
