The new CSR Frame of Reference now available in English
The new Frame of Reference for corporate social responsibility (CSR) provides a clear overview of how the MVO Platform perceives CSR. It is developed by the 30 member organisations of the MVO Platform.
The joint mission of the organisations that work together in the MVO Platform is to ensure that companies are accountable for the social, ecological and economic consequences of their activities across their entire supply chain. With this CSR Frame of Reference the MVO Platform expresses which expectations it has from the companies.
The MVO Platform emphasizes that CSR should be embedded in national legislation and internationally agreed standards and principles on good governance and social responsibility.
This edition refers to a broad-based, and recently strengthened international framework of standards on CSR:
• The UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights;
• The 2011 edition of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises in which human rights, supply chain responsibility, due diligence and the right to a living wage are included explicitly;
• ISO 26000, Guidance on social responsibility for all types of organisations.
The CSR Frame of Reference will also become available in Spanish and Chinese.
